Matthew Palavidis

Matthew holds degree in Architecture and is currently Managing Director (joint) of Acoustic Logic Consultancy in Australia, UAE and is also Director of Acoustic Logic Consultancy UK. Matthew has 25 years of experience as a practicing acoustic consultant, and has built a particular expertise in the areas of building, auditoria and studio acoustics, and as an expert witness. Matthew’s architectural background provides him with a practical understanding of the building documentation and construction processes.
Matthew also has extensive experience in the areas of environmental, construction and industrial acoustics as well as experience in the design of noise control for mechanical services. He has also acted as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
Victor Fattoretto

V ictor co-founded Acoustic Logic Consultancy in 1994. Victor is currently Managing Director (joint) of Acoustic Logic Consultancy in Australia and UAE. Victor has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) and has over 20 years of experience as a practicing acoustic consultant, and has built a particular expertise in the areas of building, building services, aircraft/rail/traffic and transportation noise, environmental noise, vibration isolation and structural dynamics and as an expert witness.
Victor is actively involved in projects across Australia and overseas. Victor, in addition to acting as an expert witness has also provided training to both academic and industry organisations on Acoustics.
Matthew Carter
Director - UAE
Matthew is based full time in UAE and is currently a Director of Acoustic Logic Consultancy UAE. Prior to becoming a Director in the UAE Matthew was a Director of Acoustic Logic Consultancy (Aust) between 2006 and 2009 after joining Acoustic Logic in 1998. Matthew holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has gained significant experience after completing a wide range of projects in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, UAE and UK.
Examples of projects Matthew is currently working on in the UAE include Al Zeina Alraha, Al Muneera, Dubai Marina 9H, Palm Canal and Trump Tower.
Matthew has had extensive experience in building acoustics and building services noise control as well as cinema and court room acoustics, construction noise and vibration, environmental noise modelling and assessment, traffic and rail noise, helicopter & aircraft noise, industrial noise control as well as vibration isolation and structural dynamics.
Matthew Shields

Matthew graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech Hons) from the University of Technology Sydney in 1997 and has over 13 years of experience in acoustics. Matthew joined Acoustic Logic Consultancy in 1997 and has been a Director since 2006. Matthew has been actively involved with projects across Australia and currently manages the Victorian office.
Matthew has expertise in the areas of building acoustics and building services noise control, aircraft/rail/traffic/tram noise, environmental noise, vibration isolation and structural dynamics, health, occupational noise, construction noise and vibration. Matthew has given expert witness evidence at the NSW Land and Environment Court and also at the Victorian Civil Administration Tribunal (VCAT). Matthew has also provided training to both academic and industry organisations on Acoustics as well as community consultation.
Kostas Mytilinis
Director - Greece
Kostas Mytilinis’ background is in computer science, and he holds a M.A. from Sydney University with studies at Athens University and Macquarie University. Kostas joined Acoustic Logic Consultancy in early 1996 and has been a Director since 2006. Kostas has over 14 years of experience in acoustics and has been actively involved with a wide range of projects across Australia, UK and Greece.
Kostas areas of expertise include building acoustics, environmental noise, vibration isolation, transmission loss testing, construction noise and vibration, traffic and aircraft noise.
Ben White
Director - Australia
Ben graduated from Sydney University in 1999 and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ben has over 9 years of experience in acoustics and has been an Associate Director with Acoustic Logic Consultancy since 2009. From 2003 to 2009, Ben held the position of senior acoustic consultant. Ben has built a particular expertise in the areas of hospital, building acoustics, building services, environmental noise control, construction noise and vibration and building acoustics during his time at Acoustic Logic Consultancy.
Ben also has extensive experience in the design of noise control in mechanical services and in the areas of construction and industrial acoustic and as well as experience in traffic, helicopter and aircraft noise modeling and intrusion. Ben has been actively involved with projects in a number of country’s including Australia, UK and the UAE.
Ben has experience in the management of construction noise and vibration.
Simon Lappas
Senior Acoustic Consultant - Australia
Simon holds a Bachelor of Science degree and has worked in the field of acoustics for over 14 years. Simon initially involved in the research and development of surface acoustic wave sensor technology with the Acoustics and Ultrasonics Group of CSIRO and as a radar and electronic warfare specialist with the Department of Defence consulting to the Defence Science and Technology Organisation. Simon has built a particular expertise in the areas of building acoustics, building services, environmental noise control, spatial acoustics and electro-acoustics including EASE® modelling. His practical scientific background provides him with an understanding of building documentation and construction processes.
George Wei
Senior Engineer - Australia
George holds a degree in Engineering has over 6 years of experience as an acoustic consultant and has held the position as senior engineer since 2008. George has expertise in the areas of building acoustics, building services, assessment construction noise and vibration, vibration monitoring of construction activity on rail tunnels, environmental noise control aircraft/rail/traffic noise. His engineering background provides him with an understanding of building documentation and construction processes.
Tom Bohdan
Technical Manager
Tom has over 7 years of experience in acoustics. Tom has held the position of Senior Technical Manager since 2009. Tom has experience in Finite Element Modelling, building and building services, construction noise and vibration, vibration isolation and structural dynamics, programming, environmental noise modelling and monitoring, Soundplan ® modelling as well as traffic/aircraft/rail noise and rail vibration.
Tom Taylor

Tom has over 5 years of experience as an acoustic consultant and is degree qualified in both Civil Engineering and Law. Tom has held the position of senior engineer since 2008. Tom has experience in building and building services, construction noise and vibration, rail/traffic/aircraft noise, environmental noise modelling and monitoring as well as negotiating with Council/specialist assessment panels in addition to reporting and appearances in Land and Environment Court and Residential Tribunal proceedings.
